Future Absences
Future absences are student absences that the school is aware of ahead of time. This could include appointments, excursions, sporting events or family holidays.
Entering a Future Absence
In the Students module click on Absence Events Maintenance:
The Set Absence Events Search Criteria window is displayed. This window is used to filter absence events already in the system. If no search criteria are added:
Select OK
To create a new absence event:
Click Add on the right of the screen:
Select the Absence Event Type of All Day Absence from the options at the top of the page:
Select the student required by using their surname or student ID.
Click Select:
Clicking Select without entering a student ID or surname will bring up the Student Search window.Â
Enter Search Criteria
Click Refresh Grid
Highlight the student required from the list produced
Click OK:
In the Create Absence Event window select the date/s of absence (1)
Select the Absence Type from the drop down menu (2)
Complete any additional details as required
Click Submit (3):
On the day of the absence the teacher taking attendance for that student will see that the roll displays the reason for the absence and the student will already be marked as absent.
