Hapara for Google Workspace for Education Central Instance
Hapara is a third party application offering online management of student learning. It is available for schools using the Google Workspace for Education applications. Schools can access Hapara for free when they join the Google Workspace for Education Central Instance.

Schools in the Google Workspace for Education Central Instance can contact ICTSupport@macs.vic.edu.au to request access to Hapara for their school. CEV Google Workspace for Education schools will be supported to set up Hapara, provided training for key staff, and have access to ongoing support.
See below for the steps involved in setting up Hapara for your school:
Step 1
A school leader or Google administrator sends an expression of interest to set up Hapara for their school to ictsupport@macs.vic.edu.au
Step 2
The school will then be contacted by a member of the support team.
The school will be offered support for the following:
Training for the Google/ Hapara Administrator and school leaders.
Guided support in setting up Hapara - Classes and Students.
Process for sharing information between the School, MACS, and Hapara.
Training for teachers.
Ongoing support for any issues related to the use of Hapara in the school.
Hapara Privacy Compliance
Schools will need to ensure that their usual process is followed to include the use of Hapara in the school. eg. standard collection notice, job applicant collection notice, acceptable use policy. The following resource is available to help your school with privacy compliance: Hapara Privacy Policy

Hapara: make the learning process visible
The Hapara suite comes with three management tools to give educators visibility into the whole learning process and drive students to take ownership of their learning.
Hapara Dashboard
With the teacher dashboard teachers can:
instantly see learners’ progress with Google Drive files and give feedback with just a couple of clicks.
provide differentiated support by sharing a Google file directly to learners’ screens.
give timely, consistent feedback and provide personalized support
help learners manage Google Drive files with one click, filter to view deleted or unshared files, or search by title or content.
With the Student Dashboard students can:
manage their Google Classroom assignments, Hāpara Workspaces, learning resources, class announcements and school email.
see all of their learning content in one spot, enabling them to stay organised, prioritising assignments and managing their daily class activities.
be actively involved in how they want to learn.
Hapara Highlights
With Highlights teachers can:
keep learners safe and focused, while learners gain the skills they need to work toward online independence.
personalise learners’ digital experience by meeting learning needs in the moment for one student, a group or the class.
monitor Chromebook activity during instructional hours. and close learners’ tabs if they get distracted and need digital citizenship support
communicate with individual learners or groups without needing to make an announcement to the entire class. Send encouragement, clear up confusion or remind learners about on-task behavior.
Hapara Workspace
With Workspace teachers can:
create personalised learning paths.
Support collaboration in your classroom.
differentiate content and share instructions, resources and activities tailored for groups.
allow learners to access everything related to the lesson, unit or project without needing to leave the Workspace.
give learners an easy, intuitive interface to manage their assignments, customise their submissions and participate in work space learning and teaching.
